Privacy policy

You give us personal information on this website when you send the consultation form, and our host logs each visit. This policy sets out what we collect, why, who sees it and the rights the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you.

Who we are

Quantum International (Pty) Ltd t/a Quantum Project Solutions (“Quantum”, “we” or “us”) runs this website. Under POPIA we are the responsible party for the personal information you send through it: we decide what happens to it, and we answer for it.

What we collect

When you send the consultation form, we receive:

  • your name, phone number and email address
  • your company or organisation, if you add one
  • the consultation type, preferred date, time and meeting place, or for a project enquiry the building type, location, budget band, stage and timeline
  • the message you write
  • the address of the page you sent the form from

The company that hosts this website also logs each visit on its server: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time and your browser type. When you send the form, we keep a hashed copy of your IP address so we can limit each address to five requests an hour. WordPress clears that record within a day.

You choose whether to send the form. We need your name, phone number, email address and a message to answer you. Your company and the project stage are optional.

Leave ID numbers, banking details and health information out of your message. We do not need them to answer you.

Why we use it

We use your details to answer your request and arrange a consultation, and for any work you hire us to do after that. Our host uses the server logs, and we use the hashed IP address, to keep the website running and to stop abuse of the form.

We do not add you to a mailing list or use your details for marketing.

POPIA allows this because you asked us to contact you about possible work, and because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the website secure.

Who sees it

The Quantum staff who handle enquiries read your request. Other companies process it for us:

  • Ketnal Creations, our web host, which stores your request on the server that runs this website
  • the companies that send and receive our email, which carry the copy of your request we receive by email

POPIA calls these companies operators. They act on our instructions and may not use your information for their own purposes.

We do not sell or rent your information. No one else receives it unless the law requires it or you agree.

How long we keep it

We keep your request, on the website and in our email, for as long as we need it for your enquiry and any work that follows. When we no longer need it, we delete both copies, unless a law requires us to keep them longer.

How we protect it

Your browser sends the form to us over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We keep your request in a private area of the website that needs a login to open, and in our email inbox.

If someone gains access to your information without permission, we will tell you and the Information Regulator, as POPIA requires.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:

  • ask whether we hold personal information about you, and ask for a copy of it
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong, out of date or incomplete
  • ask us to delete information that is excessive, or that we no longer have the right to keep
  • object, on reasonable grounds, to our use of your information to keep the website secure
  • complain to the Information Regulator at inforegulator.org.za

To use any of these rights, email admin@quantumps.co.za. Before we release or change anything, we may ask you to prove who you are.

Cookies

This website sets no tracking or advertising cookies of its own.

WordPress, the software that runs the site, sets a few essential cookies when someone logs in to its admin area, to keep that person signed in.

The map links on our home and contact pages open Google Maps, where Google’s own privacy policy and cookies apply.

The market prices on our home and Insights pages come from TradingView, which loads in your browser from TradingView’s servers and may set its own cookies. TradingView’s privacy policy applies to that strip.
